An Airport present in the state capital city Bhubaneswar. The name of the airport is Biju Patnaik International Airport (IATA: BBI, ICAO: VEBS). Also it is known as Bhubaneswar Airport, It is the only international airport in this state.
Biju Patnaik International Airport is named after the former Chief Minister of Odisha, late Mr. Biju Patnaik, Biju Patnaik was also a famed aviator and freedom fighter. He tried for development of the county and state throughout his life.

According to survey of 2013, according to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) the Bhubaneswar airport was ranked as the 17th busiest airport in India. On 5 March 2013, a new terminal (T1) was inaugurated by Minister of Civil Aviation, Ajit Singh on Biju Patnaik International Airport. The purpose of the terminal is to cater to all domestic flights while the older terminal (T2) has been refurbished to support impending international operations in Bhubaneswar airport. The Government of India accorded international status to the airport on 30 October 2013.
